"I’m ending my career knowing that I’m one of the best in the world", she was quoted in a communication of her management. "Nevertheless, in the last few weeks i have doubted whether i can muster the necessary motivation and energy for one or even three more years in the fight for gold medals and championship titles", she explained with a view to the 2014 european championships in berlin and the 2016 olympics in rio.

In wirmsthal, contrary to the general trend, the number of inhabitants is rising

Sigismund von dobschutz slightly rising population figures and current tree removals are signs of increasing attractiveness of the euerdorf district of wirmsthal. This was discussed at the castle meeting at the "zum hirschen" inn clearly, when mayor patricia schieber presented her annual review of 2018 and the outlook for coming mabnahmen.

For a few years now, there has been a slight increase in the number of residents: in 2015, the number in wirmsthal was 315; today, it is 321 (market town: 1532). In 2018 alone, there were 17 away, but 20 toward. "These are often young families who return to their home town after completing their education, said schieber and emphasized the fact that this increase contradicts the general demographic trend of decreasing population in the rural area. The mayor added that it is an advantage that, at least statistically calculated, there is a job for every second inhabitant directly in the market town. In the past year, it was also possible to sell a vacant building plot in wirmsthal to a businessman.

Vdk women volunteers honored

Vdk women volunteers honored

The vdk women's representatives stand for a strong and solidary community and for the vdk motto "the future needs humanity". And that for many decades.
One of the first was frieda leyrer. 36 years ago. For 20 years, frieda leyrer worked wholeheartedly for the interests of vdk members. After a successful period of work, she handed over the office to kunigunde saam in 2001, who continued this support work with just as much heart and understanding until 2013. At that time, brigitte mauser declared her willingness to take on this responsible honorary position.

Flowers presented

"There has been a generational success in forchheim – that is exemplary", emphasized district manager maria stadter. At the caregivers' meeting in schlaifhausen, stadter was keen to say "thank you" to these three women to say for their energetic commitment in public and association work for the benefit of the members in the district. She did this with a floral tribute "because flowers speak louder than words", according to the district. Frieda leyrer was unable to attend due to health reasons. Barbel stief accepted the flowers on her behalf. "Without us women volunteers, the vdk would be missing a key feature", stressed stadter.
Around 60 women accepted brigitte mauser's invitation and came to the kroder inn. In her opening remarks, mauser was pleased with the unusually large number of visitors, which "represents a great confirmation of our work, which is of great importance and significance".
Deputy district chairwoman heidi fortsch reported on the meeting held on 22. April's newly elected district executive board and its responsibilities. She affirmed: "whoever holds an honorary office knows how much time one invests." Having an honorary office means being committed to the community.

Quick rescue through app

When gerhard muller, deputy forestry manager in nordhalben, talks about the sense of "helping in the forest-one thing quickly becomes clear: this is not just any old cell phone gimmick, but a tool that has been prepared over a long period of time and has been developed from practical experience. The new app is now available for download on all major portals. It should help to guide rescue services or fire departments to the scene of an accident in the forest as quickly, easily and purposefully as possible. For this purpose, 134 rescue meeting points have been set up in the kronach district alone, which are signposted but can also be found via the app.

Preserved concept

The new system was invented back in the 1990s by the state forestry service, as muller explained at the presentation of the app and the signage in mauthaus. During an operation in the forest, the question arose: how does the ambulance get to the injured person?? Based on daily experience, meeting points were therefore identified. The forestry workers are given these route markers during their work assignments so that they can call for help quickly in the event of an accident. "The system has been well preserved. We have been working with this for years", emphasizes the deputy forestry manager.
Now the next step. The rescue meeting points should also be made accessible to the public. Whether private forest owners, hikers or mushroom hunters, everyone should benefit in the future in case of emergency. The solution for this is an app called "help in the forest" is to be found.
"There is a rough network of salvage points", muller explains the purpose of this app. This network not only extends beyond the district of kronach, but can be used throughout bavaria. "When the location function on the cell phone is switched on, the smartphone tells you which point is nearby. This can be reported to the emergency call center."
Benjamin baier of the ASB kronach district association confirms the sense of this offer. In his experience, when a rescuer is on the move in an unknown land, that's when the problems begin. And in case of emergency, every minute counts. "The railroad has a similar system for its routes", according to baier. In his opinion, this also confirms the sense of embedding the unmistakably named meeting points in a system that is accessible to the public.

Two naked women sitting back to back on a podium. The head turned to the side, to the viewer. A sight that could normally be graceful and seductive, but it irritates and disturbs.
For the women’s faces are wrapped with bandages. Hoses wind out from under the bandages and disappear again under the fabric. "It is about the relationship between the inner world and the outer world, the relationship between the outer world and one’s own personality", explains ernst J. Herlet.

In an exhibition at the BBK gallery in wurzburg’s kulturspeicher, herlet and his fellow artist wicky reindl want to capture what it feels like to be perceived by others, and how these feelings and self-perception remain hidden from the outside world. "To fathom the painful border between the inner world of the ego and the outer world of the non-ego is the intention of the two", according to the exhibition text.
