“Education is expensive in Germany”

In cases like this, the lina bauerschmidt foundation can help. It has set itself the goal of providing financial support for talented and needy young people in their professional careers.

But funds have become scarcer since the foundation was set up: "this is due to the extremely low interest rates currently paid by banks for the foundation’s invested capital", regrets the chairman of the foundation’s board, herbert bauerschmidt. For this reason, it had become necessary to apply very strict standards to applicants for financial aid.

"I am sorry that we can not consider all", says bauerschmidt. Rough value is placed in the selection on good grades and talent. This is even anchored in the articles of association.

But despite all the adversities, the lina bauerschmidt foundation wants to distribute a five-figure sum this year.

The foundation receives up to ten requests a year, adds executive board member richard lehmeier. At present, a woman from lanzenreuth is being discussed for support.

Foundation founder herbert bauerschmidt points to the good opportunities for further education offered by the school system. Thus also spatzunder, which were not ready with 18 years, had later quite still good training possibilities. The foundation is open to new scholarship holders in any case.

Bauerschmidt and leh meier are proud of all their young people, but especially of ferdinand knieling from melkendorf, who is studying human medicine at georg august university, is currently writing his doctoral thesis and has even been nominated for the german people’s study foundation on the basis of his achievements.
