One in three bought one more for the tablet
A great action by committed young people took place again on saturday at the rewe-markt on wurzburger strabe. "Buy-one-more campaign (kauf-eins-mehr aktion)" it happened again and the leo club herzogenaurach uraha collected hybrid food for the tafel on the initiative of the rotaract club franken.
The special thing is that the young lions (leos) and the young rotarians (rotaract) have joined forces for this action. Together, the two youth organizations want to achieve more. "The leos have been supporting the tafel for many years and we are now happy about this joint action with rotaract", gaby richter, head of the tafel distribution center in herzogenaurach, is delighted.
Customers were asked to buy one more item and donate it to the food bank. Many of the sometimes hurried people were skeptical at first and thought the action was an electioneering event. On closer inspection, however, it quickly became clear what this was all about. So it happened that every third customer bought at least one more piece and gave it to the young people. They were not tired of sorting, stacking, handing out flyers and kind words to the customers. The result was impressive: at the end of the day, more than 20 boxes filled with canned goods, non-perishable foodstuffs such as pasta and rice, baby food and hygiene items were handed over to the food bank.
Even in herzogenaurach, which is actually quite prosperous, there are families who have to try to make ends meet, and this also affects more than a hundred children. The food bank is therefore happy to receive everyday necessities, such as drugstore items, books and children's toys.
